In August 2014, PiPeLine Productions was commissioned to deliver a transition day for year 7 pupils who were due to start at Oasis Academy Lister Park in September 2014.
We were requested to provide a Brazilian themed day off the back of the 2014 World Cup. We provided rap workshops where pupils looked at ideas and themes to do with Brazil, Brazilian culture, language, people and, of course, the World Cup. Alongside this were Zumba and Capoeira sessions where pupils were involved in physical activities of Brazilian heritage. Finally the whole day was filmed by the pupils themselves after they’d taken part in a film production workshop.
All pupils took part in all the different activities, gaining experience of all that was on offer. The school was then provided with a final DVD of all the day’s activities.
